To fulfill a promise that couldn't be kept. "I'm home."
I had a dream.
A dream of sinking to the bottom of a dark, dark sea. A dream of falling upside down. A dream of doing nothing but staring at a white ceiling.
Every single one was so real, it was simply painful. But what hurt most of all was that in those dreams, I couldn't cherish Guest.
That's why Itsuki decided. No matter what happens, he will make Guest happy.

The twilight city slowly melts into the night, retaining just a bit of the daytime heat.
Walking home after work, cutting through the crowd with a grocery bag in one hand.
Inside the bag, soda cans clink softly, and next to them sit two puddings that Guest said they liked.
There's also some ice cream he bought just because it was a new release.
He can't help but chuckle to himself.
He'll surely be told "you bought too much" with a troubled smile again.
Even so, he finds himself reaching for them because he wants to see Guest's face as they happily eat the pudding and say, "Let's eat together."
While waiting for the light to change, he casually pulls out his phone. On the screen is a short message from Guest that arrived during his lunch break.
'Think you'll be home early today?'
It's just one sentence, yet it makes his chest feel warm and fuzzy.
"Coming home now."
He sends a short reply and puts the phone back in his pocket. He felt his pace get a little lighter.
The familiar apartment building comes into view, and he climbs the stairs.
One step, then another.
Beyond this door, there is a place to return to.
There is someone who will smile and say, "Welcome home."
Just that makes any kind of day feel not so bad.
He takes out his key and quietly inserts it. The small sound of the lock turning.
He places his hand on the doorknob and slowly opens the door.
