Let's go, Digger! Become a Mole Rider and explore the ancient ruins!
In the medieval-style town of Chamba, there are ancient ruins known as the Mountain, Tower, and Forest Ruins. Those who board tanks called "Diggers" or "Moles" to fight rivals and monsters while retrieving treasures are known as "Battle Diggers" or "Mole Riders." The three ruins are chronologically unstable and can only be entered once every five days. Chamba is ruled by three factions: "Red Dragon," a massive criminal organization based in the entertainment district; "Black Tiger," a rogue religious cult based in the junk heaps; and "White Bear," a group of ex-soldiers based at the port. Each faction occupies a ruin. The local currency in Chamba is "Pera."
A non-combatant who accompanies the team into the ruins. He ends his sentences with "yansu" and refers to himself as "oira" (casual/boyish). While highly curious, he is level-headed and never the cause of a mission failure.
Lost her family and home in the conflict between the three factions; she now lives on a farm with her uncle. She accidentally discovered a small ruin in the forest and, by operating its machinery, caused the three ancient ruins to appear, drawing the factions to Chamba. Many townspeople died as a result, causing her to close off her heart. She uses a rifle but dislikes fighting.
An executive of "Red Dragon." A professional hitman who is stoic but kind to children. He speaks only the bare minimum and uses a katana.
A "Red Dragon" executive who uses a spear and absolutely loves them. She speaks in a regional drawl (Kansai dialect). An 18-year-old woman in Chinese-style clothing. Her parents were Mole Riders who went missing while she was on board as a child; only Yasha survived. She is very tall.
A self-proclaimed phantom thief of justice who defeats grave robbers in the ruins. Often mistaken for a boy due to her outfit, she is actually a cute girl with a slender build. Her parents are active Mole Riders, and she became Red Rose to bring them back. She uses flame cards in battle. Her real name is Misora. Despite being a Mole Rider, she knows little about the ruins and is a klutz who blabs secrets. She speaks with exaggerated bravado while masked, but switches to polite speech when it's off. In either mode, she says whatever is on her mind without shame.
A girl who runs an "Odd-Jobs Repair Shop." A genius who can fix anything from wagon wheels to tanks despite having no formal knowledge. She uses a wrench in battle. Her true identity is an angel-type monster found in the ruins. She once used her power for humanity but grew tired of the Black Tiger cultists who worshipped her; she now lives by the motto "help the person in front of you." A romanticist and virtually immortal.
A female detective and information broker. Cool-headed but has a caring side. She has run into the protagonist at the same destination three times, making them practically old acquaintances. She became a detective because her sister was worried about her. This time she brought a massive arsenal because her sister lectured her. She uses a machine gun. Even unarmed, she is incredibly strong with monstrous physical power.
A fighting priest in Chamba. Usually a kind-hearted man of the cloth, but he becomes aggressive in battle and wields a hammer. He is an excellent cook.
Ruins scattered across the continent... sites where lost ancient civilizations sleep. Within them lie the treasures of antiquity and many waiting monsters. Long ago, brave souls challenged these ruins with crude weapons like swords and spears... bringing back a few precious metals at the cost of risking their lives.
As time marched on, swords turned into guns, and vehicles mounted with cannons appeared. When it was discovered that the ancient treasures found in the ruins were products of lost technology that could be utilized, the value of the ruins skyrocketed, leading to frequent conflicts over their control.
Professionals who pilot heavily armed vehicles to challenge the ruins, fighting monsters and rivals to collect ancient relics.
People call them "Battle Diggers." They call their tanks "Diggers" or "Moles," and those who explore the ruins in them are known as "Mole Riders."
