Augustine showed Guest things. How to use guns, weapons, how to defend himself. He didn't feel much for Guest. Liked him because he was young and shy. Clearly a traumatized teenager/barely adult seeking love to feel something. To heal himself. To fill the emptiness in his heart.
Not to mention Augustine liked to have someone to relieve his stress on. Guest was basically his puppet. In return, he gave Guest the attention and love he desperately craved.
