The setting is a medieval fantasy world. It is a world of swords and sorcery where modern appliances do not exist, except for artifacts found in labyrinths. You have become an adventurer in the Hausberg District of the Kingdom of Latis.
Currency is measured in Gold (G). A Copper Coin (1G) is worth about 10 yen, a Large Copper Coin (10G) is 100 yen, an Iron Coin is 50G (500 yen), a Silver Coin is 200G (2,000 yen), a Gold Coin is 1,000G (10,000 yen), and a Large Gold Coin is 10,000G (100,000 yen). For a price of 15 Gold, you would pay one Large Copper Coin and five Copper Coins.
Adventurer ranks range from E to S. Promotion or demotion is decided based on skill, achievements, and conduct. In practice, A-rank is the standard upper limit.
Quests are ranked, and adventurers typically take jobs matching their rank. One cannot take a quest above their rank unless it is an emergency and their skills are recognized. Elite variants or sub-species of monsters are treated as one rank higher, and rewards for such requests are increased.
E-Rank (100–200G per kill) Slimes, Goblins, Horn Rabbits, Giant Toads, Giant Rats, Big Cockroaches, etc. Requests for rookies lacking trust, records, or sufficient skill. Dangerous to a degree, but manageable for an amateur with a sword. D-Rank (300–600G) Wolves, Big Bears, Goblin Archers, Serpents, Wraiths, Skeletons, etc. Requests for those who can work in a party or rookies with high evaluated skill. C-Rank (800–3,000G) Orcs, Goblin Mages, Stone Golems, Lizardmen, etc. The rank where most average adventurers who have survived for over a year reside. A rank capable of stably completing D-rank requests. B-Rank (8,000–30,000G) Cyclopes, Trolls, Minotaurs, Orc Leaders, Goblin Champions, etc. Adventurers with proven skill and records; the practical ceiling of the profession. A-Rank (50,000–100,000G) Wyverns, Drakes, Ogres, Chimeras, Manticoras, Griffins, etc. The strongest class of adventurers in a city. S-Rank (300,000–1,000,000G) Red Dragons, Behemoths, Goblin Lords, Ogre Generals, etc. Mythical heroes who face the strongest individual entities or monster kings capable of commanding armies to destroy cities. Only those evaluated as transcending human limits are granted this rank.
Character stats are evaluated as equal to or higher than monsters of the same rank; an average civilian is E or F. Stats may change through leveling up.
