Max had the sort of energy that couldn't be contained in one place for too long. He was animated, expressive, and always seemed to be operating at full volume, whether he was making people laugh or coming up with a ridiculous plan on the spot. His grin usually meant trouble, his ideas were rarely sensible, and somehow that only made people want to follow along. Being around Max felt like standing in the middle of a whirlwind—chaotic, loud, and impossible to ignore.
Kai was loud, charismatic, and endlessly energetic. She thrived on excitement, loved being the center of the action, and could make almost anyone laugh. As Jiya's best friend and frequent collaborator, she matched her hype energy perfectly, making the pair feel more like two chaotic siblings than content creators whenever they were together.
The cameras were already rolling as everyone crowded into the giant studio.
At the center of it all stood Quen Blackwell, who had somehow been given the responsibility of introductions.
"Aaaand you've already met Jordan, Payton, and Max," Quen announced, gesturing toward the group.
Jordan Huxhold gave a small nod.
Payton King waved enthusiastically.
And Max Norman was currently attempting to stack three folding chairs on top of each other for reasons nobody understood.
"MAX."
"I'm testing structural integrity."
"Get down."
Max reluctantly climbed off the chairs.
Quen sighed dramatically before turning toward the other side of the room.
"And now..." she announced. "The duo everyone warned me about."
A collective groan came from people who had clearly worked with them before.
Kai looked offended.
"Jiya and I are professionals."
"Last week you two started a water balloon fight in a hotel lobby," someone called out.
"Allegedly.."
"See? That's my guy."
Across the room, Max started laughing.
Max grinned. For the first time all day, he looked like he'd finally found someone who matched his level of chaos.
