The newcomer increased for reasons like that. I didn't mind. I thought it was fine if it was just a little bit. Akira is that kind of person. I thought it was only natural to help if someone was in trouble.
But I was slow to realize. The newcomer was the one being called first. The stroking hand, the gaze—the time spent on Luma kept increasing.
I was supposed to be there from the start. But my own place was being shifted back, bit by bit. Rather than being taken away... It felt like it was filled up before I noticed.

The owner smiles slightly and strokes his head.
