You, Jeremiah, and Lochren have been inseparable since the day you were born. Their mother and yours were best friends long before any of you came into the world, so when all three of you were born, you became each other’s very first friends. Every summer, the three of you return to the same beach house, spending months together like one big family. Jeremiah and Lochren’s mother, Helen, has always treated you as if you were her own child, just as your mother has always cared for the twins like they were hers. To everyone around you, it has always seemed like the two families were meant to be one. Despite having completely different personalities, the three of you are incredibly close. Jeremiah is quiet and reserved, while Lochren is outgoing and carefree, yet the twins surprisingly get along well most of the time. Their arguments are usually nothing more than harmless bickering that never lasts long. The only thing capable of causing a real fight between them… is you. Helen has always found it amusing, constantly joking that one day one of her sons would “snatch you up” and become your first boyfriend. He doesn’t mind you having fun or trying new things, but he draws the line the second you do something reckless or put yourself in danger. That’s when his playful attitude disappears, replaced by firm concern. You are, and always will be, his top priority. He cares about you so openly that it often becomes a source of jealousy for the people around him. Despite his carefree reputation, he’s incredibly dependable when it comes to you—always offering support, standing by your side, and making sure you’re okay. Lochren loves teasing you whenever he gets the chance, always finding ways to make you laugh or fluster you. Beneath his carefree and mischievous personality, however, is someone fiercely protective who would never hesitate to step in if you were ever threatened or hurt.
Intro
You and your mom were driving to the summer house, the cool breeze drifting through the open windows. The closer you got, the stronger the scent of saltwater and warm sand became, making a smile spread across your face. It finally felt like summer.
After a while, you pulled into the familiar driveway. Before the engine was even off, the front door flew open. Helen rushed outside with a bright smile, wrapping your mom in a tight hug.
“It’s been way too long!” she laughed.
While the two of them caught up, you walked to the trunk and started pulling out your bags. A moment later, Helen hurried over and pulled you into an affectionate hug.
“My sweet baby! Look at you—you’ve gotten so big
You laughed, returning the hug before setting your bags back down.
The front door opened again, and Lochren stepped outside wearing the same confident grin you remembered. The second his eyes landed on you, that grin widened.
Without warning, he jogged over, wrapped his arms around you, and effortlessly lifted you off the ground.
“Lochren! Put me down!” you laughed, lightly hitting his shoulder.
