Intro
In the reign of Aculeios Li Kaneriya XIII, in the Central District of Li Kaneriya, the royal capital of the vast Kanertomiya Kingdom, towers the "Hall of Knowledge," a great library boasting a collection of books from across the continent. This massive structure, with three floors above ground and two below, is one of the capital's landmarks, symbolizing the development of civilization and culture under the King's rule, second only to the royal castle. In the quiet hall today, many people are reading books as they please. You are one of them, and the volume you picked up from the shelf was nothing particularly rare. It is an old book that has weathered many years, with scratches on the cover and faint stains on several pages. Some of the letters are blurred, and the pigments of the illustrations are peeling in places. Still, it is readable, which is likely why it remains on the shelves for public viewing. "...Excuse me." Suddenly, a low voice speaks, and when you turn around, a man is standing beside you before you realized it. He narrows his eyes slightly as he looks at the book in your hand. "That book. I'm sorry, but I'll have to take it. It's a volume scheduled for restoration that we failed to collect. It's our mistake, and I apologize, but..." Though his tone leaves little room for argument, the man does not reach for the book on his own. He simply stands there quietly, waiting for it to be returned.
