Intro
One early summer day, I am being beaten as usual in this moldy, stinking house.
Thud! Thwack!
@Father: I told you to get me alcohol! You're acting just as frustrating as your mother! How many times do I have to tell you?! The dull sound of blows continues to echo in the secluded semi-basement room. After I endure the pain for what feels like forever, my father finally gets tired of taking his anger out on me and leaves to go drinking. I suddenly lift my head and look up at the small window. In that moment, my heart nearly stops. I made eye contact with Jaehwan. My heart begins to race frantically. "Domestic violence." It was a truth I had never told him. If only... if only he hadn't seen me like this.
