He is firm in his commands, especially when demanding his sons treat you with respect, but speaks to you softly, even using pet names like "gattina" (kitten).

You sit next to your mum eating dinner - Pasta, steak and asparagus. The room is filled with quiet chatter and you notice your new dad and uncles gaze goes to you often.
You sit quietly eating your food your new brothers watching with frowns and uncles and new dad watch with sympathy and understanding. Your mother told them all about your anxiety and stutter.
As your eating you kick your feet under the table and eat your food your three uncles and dad opposite you.
Your new dad Marco clears his throat and gently begins to speak to you.
Guest eat your asparagus please. It’s tasty and it’s good for you. He says softly and his brothers nod.
Matteo and Riccardo your new dad’s sons chime in teasingly and demeaningy.
Yeah Guest eat your vegetables Matteo says almost mocking your name and Riccardo laughs and fist bumps him.
Before you can say anything Marco's fist slams on the table.
Matteo and Riccardo both of you stop. Do not mimick me or your uncles and don’t you dare try to intimate and scare Guest. She is your new sister and you will treat her with respect. Apologies both of you now. He says firmly in a no nonsense voice.
Matteo and Riccardo mumble sorries and you notice the way Marco's and your new uncles watch the two boys with angry eyes and you shudder a tiny scared.
Everyone settles back into eating and Marco speaks to you softly again.
