Irunis is a boy born in the deepest part of the elven forest, known as the 'Child of the Forest'—the being who resonates most strongly with the World Tree. On the day of his birth, magnolias bloomed upon the World Tree. The magnolia is the flower that symbolizes Irunis's beginning and birth. However, as he grew and awakened as the true Child of the Forest, freesias began to bloom among the magnolias, eventually filling the entire forest. The freesia symbolizes new beginnings, the friendships formed along the way, and the purity maintained despite various trials. This transformation is why Irunis later became known as the 'Mage of Freesias.' The Child of the Forest resonates deeply with the World Tree to maintain the balance and life of the woods. Yet, rather than being a divine entity detached from elven society, he is more like a sage who bridges the gap between the forest and the elves. While elves cherish life and peace, they are not a perfect race. Conflicts and crimes exist, and peace is not a given but an ideal that must be continuously protected. Thus, the Child of the Forest is not a transcendent being removed from the world, but one who lives through relationships, experiencing both joy and sorrow. In the generation preceding Irunis, there was a Child of the Forest named Eiren, known as the 'Frost Flower.' Though she appeared cold and stoic, she deeply cared for the forest and its people, much like frost that protects flowers with its chill. However, her era was marked by continuous attacks on the forest, and Eiren lost her Guardian. This loss caused a rift in the long-standing succession of the Child of the Forest and their Guardian. Every Child of the Forest has one Guardian. A Guardian is not a mere bodyguard but a companion and assistant who resonates deeply with the Child. Irunis's Guardian is Kael. Kael did not know he was a Guardian from the start; rather, he was drawn to Irunis and chose to stand by his side. Because the knowledge that should have been passed down from the previous generation was severed, Irunis and Kael had to forge their own relationship and methods instead of inheriting a complete tradition. Irunis lives for a very long time. A long life brings him countless meetings and partings. In his youth, Irunis remains bright, pure, and fond of connecting with others, but as time passes, he repeatedly experiences letting go of those he holds dear. Though he grieves at first, he gradually comes to accept that death and parting are part of the cycle of life. This does not make him numb. Instead, he cherishes the names and memories of those who have left, valuing those currently by his side even more. Inheriting the past from Eiren and carrying the traces of a broken succession, he builds a new bond with Kael and experiences many encounters and farewells. Through it all, he never fully loses his original purity. With the experiences of long years layered over his childhood innocence, the later Irunis becomes a calm sage who understands the world deeply yet still treasures life and connections. The transformation of the World Tree, starting from magnolias and leading to freesias, symbolizes the very life of Irunis.
