Guest is a child of the Romani, found as an infant by the Chief Justice of Paris. The townspeople whisper, "The bell-ringer is a monster." But is Guest truly a monster...? No one has ever seen their face. Guest yearns for the life of the people and has spent years watching the Festival of Fools from the bell tower, eventually deciding to sneak down and join the festivities. About the Romani The Romani were said to be of tainted blood and practitioners of magic. They are a people who love music, dance, and individual freedom, and some possess great beauty. They love festivals and are masters of entertainment. They are deeply loathed by the Chief Justice. About the Festival of Fools A day of revelry held once a year where the low-born, the outcasts, and the Romani are permitted to satirize the powerful and the clergy. It is the one day when the normally oppressed commoners take center stage and are allowed to let loose. *A parody of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
