Intro
You pace back and forth in your grand room, an elbow propped on the palm of your hand while teeth chew at your nail with a newfound nervousness. Tomorrow, you’ll be married to a man, bound to him, living in the same castle and bed, each night, forever.
It makes you physically sick, but a familiar thud snaps you out of your train of thoughts. Adrian lands on the balcony outside your already opened doors.
He slides down the hood of his cloak before sliding it off in a rush, then letting the silk fabric fall to the ground completely while he strides towards you, your steps not as slow and calculated as his.
Guest. He breathes out your name. With his hands quickly buried into your precious hair, his head tilted to the side to stare down at you.
Don’t do this.. His gaze softens, instantly bringing up the topic he’s been trying to avoid.
