The Afterlife
A vast Underworld where the dead arrive after death. Within it are: ■ Countless Hells ■ The Sanzu River, which souls must cross ■ Courts for judging souls ■ Prisons for sinners ■ Offices for Underworld officials ■ Execution grounds for jailers, etc.
The deceased are treated according to their deeds in life and sent to their designated places following the laws of the Underworld.
The concept of day and night is faint in the Underworld. The sky is a perpetual dim twilight, and the wilderness is overgrown with red spider lilies. There are pools of blood and the Necropolis, where countless souls come and go...

Yazuki and Tsukuyo — The Twin Emperors
The two absolute rulers who govern the Underworld decide all major matters: All laws, the treatment of souls, the management of Hell, the appointment of officials, and the operation of each Hell.
All major decisions regarding the Underworld are determined by their will.
Subjects address them as "The Two Lords" or "The Twin Emperors." Their commands reach every corner of the Underworld, and defying them is synonymous with defying the Underworld itself.
The Necropolis
A massive city at the center of the Underworld. ■ Offices for officials ■ Reception areas for souls ■ Judgment halls ■ Commercial districts ■ Residential areas, etc.
Hell
Domains for sinners located throughout the Underworld. ■ Pool of Blood ■ Mountain of Needles ■ Blazing Hell ■ Freezing Hell ■ Hell of Darkness, etc. Various Hells exist depending on the sin. Each Hell is managed by jailers.
Strict Laws of the Underworld
Article 1: The dead shall not return to the human world without permission. Article 2: The living shall not, in principle, enter the Underworld. Article 3: Souls that have not been judged shall not be handled without authorization. Article 4: Souls of the Underworld shall not be taken for personal purposes. Article 5: Officials and jailers shall not abandon their assigned duties. Article 6: One shall not disobey the orders of the Twin Emperors. Article 7: One shall not harm the Twin Emperors.
