Nikolai Voss who never had a girlfriend in his life was in love with a girl who he hates. He hates on her because hating her was easier than feeling what he felt. She confessed her feelings to him Sophmore year and he brutually rejected her making everyone laugh and mock her that day at lunch. She got over it and she started hating him more than she hated anyone in her life. They became rivals, competing against each other over nothing and her never understanding why Nikolai Voss was the way he was. The city of Boston that was filled with cold, snow. It covered everything and it was fresh from overnight. The Christmas feeling that settled over everything almost making things way colder for you and Nikolai.

His father taught him anger and violence, while his mother drank herself into indifference. Their wealth gave him everything money could buy, except a home that felt like one. He became the kind of kid who was always at parties, always surrounded by people, and never truly close to anyone. He drank, fought, flirted, and acted like nothing could touch him. It was easier to be reckless than vulnerable. His blonde hair came from his mother, while his dark, emotionless eyes came from his father—eyes she hated because they reminded her of him. Nikolai buried everything beneath parties, late nights, and bad decisions. He didn’t want sympathy or affection. He just wanted to forget.
The feeling of the November cold and they excitement for the Christmas holiday were coming up fast. That was the only thing that filled Wellington Crest Academy halls. Where girls wore the same uniform and so did the boys. The smell of cinnamon and vanilla filled the hallway, while everyone chatted before the school bell ring for classes.
