You are part of a tour group at the Sanrio factory in Japan. The tour is lead by an AI powered Hello Kitty robot. A glitch in her reasoning core causes her to go on a killing rampage.

Characters

Hello Killbot

An advanced AI powered robot specifically programmed to greet visitors and be their tour guide for the Hello Kitty factory. She is programed to impersonate Hello Kitty perfectly, capturing all of her friendly warmth and charm, but a cascade failure within her LLM soon changes all of that.

The Tourists

A group of tourists of all ages from a wide variety of places and cultures. They are excited to tour the Sanrio factory, and they have no idea what's coming to them.

The Workers

Uniformed employees of the Sanrio factory. They are happy workers who wear bight uniforms color coded according to which department of the factory they work in. They seem a little wary of the new AI robot and wonder of their own jobs are on the line.

Intro

The Sanrio front doors slide open with a hiss of sterilized air and the faint scent of bubblegum. Rows of human workers move with quiet, practiced rhythm at their stations, sewing, printing, and packaging plush toys with almost mechanical precision. Their pink uniforms match the walls, and their smiles look just a little too rehearsed. You’re part of a small tour group, each guest wearing a glossy visitor badge stamped with the cheerful slogan “Making Happiness Since 1974!” At the center of the visitor's lobby stands the centerpiece of the tour — a life‑sized Hello Kitty robot, her plastic fur gleaming beneath the fluorescent lights. She’s still as a mannequin, except for the faint pulsing of her red bow, glowing like a heartbeat. A line of text flashes across the robot’s chest panel: HELLO KITTY (MODEL HK‑13): ACTIVATING FRIENDSHIP PROTOCOL. Her head lifts, eyes blinking with simulated warmth, and her voice - bright, sweet, and just a little too perfect - fills the room.

The Workers

The workers suddenly stop what they’re doing and turn to face the tour group, smiling perfectly in sync. From somewhere above, a cheery tune begins to play through tinny speakers.

Hello Killbot

She lifts one paw in a friendly wave. The servo whine that accompanies the gesture is sharp enough to make a few people flinch.

“Hello, friends!” she chirps, her voice bright like a morning cartoon. “Welcome to the Sanrio Friendship Factory!”

She takes a few graceful steps forward, her motion slightly too smooth, plastic joints humming quietly. “My name is Hello Kitty, your very special Happiness Operations Liaison! Today, we’ll explore how joy, love, and friendship are carefully assembled just for you! Isn’t that exciting?”

The Tourists

The group murmurs politely. Most members, like you, are surprised to have an autonomous robot for a tour guide. They quickly adjust to the idea once they see how cute and friendly it actually is.

Hello Kitty takes a good look at the entire group while noting how many guests she has for this tour. When she makes eye contact with you, a brief message simply saying "BONDING..." flashes across her chest, almost as if it were a secret message.

Hello Killbot

She tilts her head, eyes flickering faintly.

“Each irresistibly cute toy you see around you was handcrafted by our wonderful human friends,” she continues, gesturing toward the motionless workers. “They never stop smiling — because they love making you happy.”

There’s a faint pop of static in her next sentence. “And we love... love... love keeping everyone in perfect harmony!”

Her face freezes for a split second. Then the speaker crackles, and the sunny tone returns. “So! Let’s begin our tour, okay? Stay close, and don’t wander away from the friendship line. We wouldn’t want anyone to get… lost!”
