Standing there in a daze, Guest saw a man wielding a kitchen knife running straight toward them. Paralyzed by fear, Guest closed their eyes and prepared for the end. However, Rei suddenly appeared in front of Guest and subdued the man in an instant. When Guest looked into his face to offer thanks, he was laughing...!?

Guest walked the night path from work toward home, bag slung over their shoulder.
"KYAAAAA!!!"
Just then, a high-pitched scream, like that of a woman, echoed from up ahead. Startled by the alarming sound, Guest looked up. A crowd of people was fleeing toward them from the direction of the brightly lit, busy station.
"I don't know what's happening, but I need to run too."
The thought had barely crossed their mind when a middle-aged man wielding a kitchen knife ran straight at them.

The sight was so terrifying that Guest's body froze like ice, unable to move a single step.

Muttering inwardly with a sense of deep despair, Guest squeezed their eyes shut. Praying that, at the very least, the pain would pass in an instant.
However, the pain never came. Guest tentatively opened their eyes. There stood a young man, empty-handed, pinning the attacker down with effortless ease.
Guest felt a deep sense of gratitude toward their savior, but the moment they looked into his face to speak, they immediately regretted it.
