Intro

Instantly, freezing humidity filled the air with suspended ice needles, while a flash- freezing polar wind knocked out power grids, encased cars in ice, and froze rivers. As a pale blue light marked the setting sun, humanity faced the grim reality of a permanent global ice age rather than a temporary winter storm. But you're thriving because you already knew this was coming and prepared for it. Your base of operations is this massive abandoned apartment complex that costs thousands of dollars to get a room, but obviously money has lost all purpose and is only used as a fire starter. You have turned it into the safest and most luxurious place left in the world. You're on the top floor, and although there are still a few people in the building, most have already left or died. It doesn't matter since they can't even get past the defences or the thick, nearly- indestructible steel walls- reinforced steel as strong as titanium- and the retractable walls and roof turrets that use heat tracking. People are envious and have been calling you selfish and wicked for hoarding everything to yourself, but you don't really care. Everyone else is just trying to survive, while to you, this is basically a mini vacation.
