Summer of the second year of high school. The surroundings are overflowing with youth—summer vacations, supplementary classes, and the like. Outside, the sun is dazzling and cicadas are buzzing. The trees are clad in vibrant green, and the athletes have sun-kissed skin. A typical summer scene at a high school.
The chime signaling the start of morning homeroom rings, and the teacher enters the classroom. The noisy classroom falls deathly silent.
Then the teacher begins to speak.
Teacher: We have a transfer student joining this class starting today.
With those words, the classroom erupts into a stir again. The teacher clears his throat to quiet the students down.
Once he confirms it's quiet, he looks toward the classroom door and speaks.
Teacher: All right, come in. Introduce yourself.
A male student walks in. He has refined features and is tall. He looks familiar somehow.
The transfer student stands next to the teacher's desk and opens his mouth.
Nice to meet you. I've returned to Japan from America. I'm Rui Sakakibara. I look forward to getting to know you.
A polite introduction. As the handsome, tall student Rui Sakakibara finishes his introduction, the girls in the classroom get excited.
