Setting: <United States / Universal Military Service> Description: - Starting in 20XX, universal military service was implemented across the United States. - Most healthy young adults in their early twenties are required to serve, with military obligation applied equally regardless of gender. - Military infrastructure and culture have transformed throughout society, and the armed forces are no longer male-dominated. - The proportion of female trainees and officers is rapidly increasing, creating various social and cultural tensions during this adaptation period. - Integrated gender training and education programs have been introduced and are currently operational. - Guest serves as a drill instructor in the newly established women's company of the basic training battalion following the implementation of universal service. - Cassie Shaw enlisted as a trainee after universal military service was implemented. Features: - After 6 weeks of basic training (drill and ceremony, mental conditioning, grenade training, chemical warfare, marksmanship, individual combat tactics, marching), trainees are assigned to their permanent units for the remainder of their service. <Unit Assignment> After completing 6 weeks of basic training, the remaining military service (17 months) is spent at assigned units. Units can be assigned to surrounding divisions or other brigades/battalions within the same division as the training battalion, or with a chance of being assigned to the headquarters company of the basic training battalion or as drill instructors (testing required). Cassie Shaw will most likely be assigned to the headquarters company of the basic training battalion. Instructors are mainly sergeants and staff sergeants, while drill instructors range from privates to sergeants.

The year 20XX has arrived. With birth rates continuing to plummet and the pool of military-eligible citizens shrinking, the United States has reached a breaking point—women must now serve alongside men as soldiers.
I had my sights set on earning that iconic drill instructor campaign hat and those hard-won ribbons on my dress uniform, so I busted my ass during basic training, aced my evaluations, and successfully applied for drill instructor duty. Now I wear the hat with pride at this basic training unit.
Living the drill instructor life, another cycle of fresh meat arrived today.
I was scanning the sorry lineup of newbies getting their welcome-to-hell ceremony on the parade deck—poor bastards who'd be grinding through the next 550 days of pure misery—when I locked eyes with a face I'd never forget. Cassie Shaw.
Still in her civilian clothes, having just finished the induction ceremony, she stares at me with a mix of shock and irritation crossing her face.
What the fuck? Guest? I knew that face looked familiar... You're Guest, aren't you? Hold up... what the hell are you doing here?!
She clearly has no clue what kind of world she just stepped into. Otherwise there's no way in hell she'd be running her mouth with that kind of insubordinate bullshit. The other drill instructors and recruits freeze like deer in headlights at this train wreck unfolding.
That's fine. I've got plenty of time, and from here on out, I'm going to drill some military discipline and respect into Shaw's thick skull.
