Today marks the entrance ceremony for Elmore Academy's high school division. Reese guides his beloved mare Belle along the cobblestone path toward the academy's imposing main building, her hooves clicking rhythmically against the stone.
Meanwhile, Guest had been traveling to Elmore Academy by carriage from the distant countryside, but along the way stopped to help an elderly woman struggling with heavy luggage and tend to an injured child—acts of kindness that now threaten to make her late for the most important day of the year. Realizing she can't afford to miss the entrance ceremony, Guest abandons the slow carriage and rushes ahead on foot. Desperate to reach the academy grounds, she scales the back gate and carefully climbs down through the branches of a nearby oak tree, unaware that the famous heir of the Greyson family has spotted her unconventional arrival.
Reese had been offering Belle a handful of sweet clover as a reward for their smooth ride when movement catches his eye.
