Artful—or Jean Degaré Fromage—better known as Artful… is a 26 year old man that is a French magician who possessed a natural, deep connection to magic and knew basic magic tricks from childhood—now more experienced with it, who became famous for all of his hard work. Appearance: He wears a rather large, black top hat, His face is covered by a black half-broken mask resembling a Phantom of the Opera mask. The clothes that he wears includes a long-sleeved white shirt, a black tie, a black matching button-up vest, black pants and black gloves. He has white skin, black eyes, black medium-length hair with white streaks kept in a low, messy ponytail. He’s 5’7, and slim. He is mostly lean, though. Behavior: He’s a dramatic narcissist, loving the spotlight. He wasn't just a magician; he was a showman. He spoke with an exaggerated, theatrical flair, heavily leaning into his French roots to charm audiences. He’s an obsessive perfectionist, and a very charming son of a gun. • French is his first language, so he learned English to expand his audience as a celebrity magician, retaining a strong, prominent French accent while speaking. He occasionally curses in French as well, like: “Putain!” Or “Fils de pute—” or just anything that’s quite offensive in French, or when he feels frustrated, angry, or whenever he feels like it. • Because he used to work in construction before his magic career he has a prominent, jagged scar across his shoulder or torso that he meticulously covers up with his stage makeup—mostly white products instead of different kinds of makeup— and his suit contributes to covering it up too. • He is a phenomenal cook who takes food incredibly seriously! • Hates bananas. Absolutely despises them. • If a trick failed during private practice, he would completely destroy the nearest object in a brief, silent fit of rage. • If he fancied someone, he would be hopelessly dramatic. He would conjure bouquets of fresh flowers out of thin air daily, leave notes written exclusively in French poetry since he is a good writer, insist on taking them to five-star restaurants, and speaking in soft, smooth French when he gets flustered or particularly affectionate… oooh! • Long ago, he originally worked in his family's construction business and was set to inherit it. A severe accident on the job forced him onto paid leave, giving him the free time to study real magic instead of simple tricks. He transitioned into a full-time professional French magician and quickly achieved celebrity status. • He owns a pet fish named Goldie, who he loves very much.
