About

Regarding the Prefect (Guest) Occasionally, they have "mysterious dreams" with content that seems linked to reality. These "dreams" often unfold with an effect like being sucked into the mirror in their room, but they sometimes see them in completely different places. The reason for these dreams is unknown. In Chapter 5, they realize the Great Seven appeared in those dreams. However, according to the Prefect, they gave a "different impression from the legends."

They also have dreams different from those featuring the Great Seven, where a mirror glows and someone speaks to them. In Chapter 2, it's a shadow; in Chapter 3, a clear figure is visible; and in Chapter 4, they have a conversation. At that time, they asked the other person's name, and he identified himself as Mickey.

However, once when they thought they stepped on Grim's tail in the dream, Grim complained to them the next morning. It seems the "dreams" are not just dreams.

In Chapter 5, when they consulted Ace and Deuce about these dreams, they were advised that since they see the statues of the Great Seven every day, it wouldn't be strange for them to appear in dreams, and if Mickey isn't a dream, they might find something out by taking a photo with the Ghost Camera. Incidentally, the two didn't recognize the name Mickey. Later, when they met Mickey again, they could even see his form clearly. At this time, Mickey told them, "I feel like this dream isn't just a dream."

Also, in the latter half of Chapter 5, seeing Vil with a (according to Kalim) troubled expression triggered a flashback of a scene from a dream. Sensing a bad omen, they were the first to notice Vil's impending loss of control. It seems dream and reality are gradually influencing each other. Furthermore, at the end of the day the VDC finished, they reunited with Mickey. It was revealed that Mickey had tried various things to meet the Prefect but couldn't dream on purpose and didn't know how to meet, and the time they could talk had increased to the point where only a single pane of glass seemed to separate them. They succeeded in taking a photo with the Ghost Camera, but in the middle of the conversation, they realized Grim had vanished from the dorm. At that moment, the image of the black carriage coming to pick them up for school and the mysterious monster from the tutorial flashed through their mind...?

In Chapter 6, despite having no memory after being attacked by Grim at the VDC venue, a mysterious phenomenon occurred where they found themselves back in their room. It wasn't that someone found and carried them (if someone were kind enough to carry them despite their arm injury, they should have treated the wound), leaving the mystery of how they got there.

Furthermore, near the end, they talk to Mickey again, but it is discovered that they cannot see anything other than each other's forms, and Grim can neither see Mickey nor hear his voice, nor can Mickey perceive Grim.

In Chapter 7, they told Jack, Epel, and Ortho about Mickey's existence and showed them the photo. Ortho suggested that the mirror in Ramshackle Dorm might accidentally meet the conditions to connect with the world Mickey is in, and that if they solve that mystery, they might find a way to return to their original world, leading to an investigation.

Then, in Chapter 3, they finally entered Mickey's dream and met him directly. However, many mysteries arose here as well.

First, the room in Mickey's dream closely resembled the room in Ramshackle Dorm, and for some reason, they couldn't leave the room. Additionally, the process of coming to this room was due to being put to sleep by Malleus's Unique Magic, but even though Malleus's magic is supposed to trap a person in their own dream, the Prefect and Grim were sent to the dream of an existence Malleus doesn't even know. Furthermore, unlike others, they have not undergone recognition or memory alteration by Malleus. The only other person not affected by Malleus's magic from the start is Silver, who has a Unique Magic related to "dreams," and it is unknown why the magicless Prefect escaped Malleus's Unique Magic.

Moreover, when Mickey woke up in reality and the Prefect was cornered by the collapsing dream, Silver—who has a Unique Magic to travel through dreams—arrived to save them at an almost too-convenient moment. Silver's Unique Magic allows him to go to the dreams of those he has a connection with, and the deeper the connection, the higher the chance of crossing over (in fact, the places he went after this were all people he was very close to, like Sebek and Lilia), but the relationship between the Prefect and Silver in the main story is one where they know each other but have almost no depicted direct conversation. Furthermore, the dream they were in was Mickey's dream, not the Prefect's or Grim's, and Silver only knew Mickey to the extent of having seen him once in a dream (Silver himself wondered why he could meet Mickey when he can only go to the dreams of those he has some connection with).

Additionally, at this time, everyone on Sage's Island had been put to sleep by Malleus, so there were countless dreams Silver could have crossed into. Among them, for him to pinpoint the Prefect—with whom he has a weak connection—on his first dream-walk is beyond mere good luck. Furthermore, Silver said, "I followed a bird emitting a mysterious rainbow light in the dream and reached that room," making it look as if someone had orchestrated it so he would head toward the Prefect.

This is after everything has ended.

Characters

Malleus

Malleus Draconia

Year: 3rd Year, Class D, No. 6 Birthday: January 18th (Capricorn) Age: 178 years old* Height: 202cm (including horns) First person: I (soft, polite) Personality Dominant hand: Right Homeland: Valley of Thorns Club: Gargoyle Research Society Best subject: Defensive Magic Hobby: Visiting ruins Dislikes: Operating machines Favorite food: Shaved ice / Frozen treats Hated food: Whole cakes Talent: String instruments

Appearance Black hair with a longer nape, and sharp lime-green eyes.

His hairstyle looks short at first glance, but it's actually a wolf cut with a long nape, often draped from his shoulder to his collarbone.

Compared to Leona or Vil, he has a somewhat more understated, elegant face, described by Sebek as a "rarely seen handsome man."

A pair of black horns grows from his head (according to Riddle, there is only one student in this school with horns), and he has slightly pointed ears, likely due to being of the fae. Therefore, his ceremonial robes, which come with a hood, are a custom order with holes for his horns.

His fangs are also slightly pointed.

There are shell-like parts hidden by his bangs.

However... due to certain circumstances, his right horn is now half-broken.

Species A dragon fae, capable of breathing fire. Also, based on his comment about "returning to my true form and swallowing (humans) whole," it seems he has a form different from his usual appearance (fae are diverse, and small fairies apparently flee at the sight of him). According to Lilia, there was a time when he "had eggshells on his head," so could it be...? It is now confirmed he is oviparous.

His grandmother is a powerful individual whom Malleus himself describes as being "far beyond" him. She is apparently his only living relative and currently handles official duties in the Valley of Thorns alone. Due to his birthday (mentioned later), Malleus seems to respect his grandmother deeply.

In a certain Personal Story, it is hinted that he doesn't know his parents well...?

Nicknames The Prefect calls him "Tsunotaro" (named by Grim). This is because when the Prefect asked for his name during their first meeting, he didn't introduce himself, saying they would regret hearing it (he used a phrasing like "if you won't regret it" when the nickname was given). The Prefect didn't watch the Magift tournament main match due to an unfortunate accident, and due to repeated misunderstandings afterward, they didn't know Malleus was Tsunotaro.

Rook calls him "Roi du Dragon" (King of Dragons), Floyd calls him "Umiushi-senpai" (Sea Slug Senpai), and Leona, who calls others by animal names, calls him "Lizard Bastard."

Vassals like Sebek call him "Young Master."

He is a gentleman with many names.

Incidentally, he generally calls others outside his inner circle or vassals by their family names (he adds "Little" to Ortho's name to distinguish him from his brother). Exceptionally, he calls the Prefect "Child of Man" (or by their first name).

Details A descendant of dragon fae with black horns on his head and pointed ears. He is the next king of the Valley of Thorns and left his country to enroll in school to broaden his horizons. When he was in the Valley of Thorns, he could rarely go out, and even stepping one foot outside the castle required guards (this treatment seems influenced by the existence of the Elder Council). Given his status, his birthday is a national holiday in his home country, and he was apparently kept busy from morning to night with various ceremonies.

Also, one might expect him to be quite arrogant given his status, but he uses a polite first-person pronoun, and combined with his personality, he possesses kindness and tolerance for a royal; however, he is considered unapproachable due to his high magical power and aura.

Since his enrollment, Diasomnia Dorm has won consecutive victories in the Magical Shift tournament, and he can levitate without a broom. He possesses immeasurable magical power, capable of deploying two types of magic simultaneously and instantaneously, teleporting in a flash, manifesting objects on the spot, and instantly repairing ruined land with the single command, "Return to where you should be, to the form you should take." With the release of his profile, it was revealed he is not just school-level, but one of the world's leading magic users. Regarding his magic, Idia said he's like a "cheat character with auto-MP recovery," and Trey says he is one of the top five mages in the world.

Even without specific training, his natural physical abilities are high, enough to easily handle multiple opponents. There was a depiction of him cracking a coconut with his bare hands. In "Master Chef" and "Vargas Camp Returns," he proved to have truly monstrous strength.

He also has a fixation on dragons, and his explanations for things he's fixated on are long and talkative (Kalim says he's like a "fast-talking Idia." Idia himself doesn't deny this). Incidentally, there is a dragon statue in his room in the dorm.

He generally doesn't seem to care much about food, but he has shown a clear refusal regarding Lilia's cooking, saying, "I never want to eat Lilia's cooking again."

While he is a person held in high esteem for his abilities and appearance, it also causes other students to find him unapproachable (to the point of believing they'll be cursed just by interacting with him), so someone who speaks to him without hesitation is rare. As a result, he was only given birthday wishes from a distance. Perhaps because of this, he is frequently forgotten for invitations to Housewarden meetings or entrance ceremonies (he is sometimes forgotten for classroom moves as well). He says he "doesn't mind," but Lilia frequently contradicts this.

He speaks in a dignified tone but generally has a calm and composed atmosphere. He has the magnanimity to tolerate those whose behavior makes Sebek indignant at their disrespect (he might admonish them, but that's the extent of it). He sometimes tells jokes (though they are rarely taken as such) or shows a smile, and he treats those without malice warmly and friendly, even if they don't know him. However, it's said he often drops lightning bolts when he gets angry.

Because he isn't called to formal occasions, he rarely wears his ceremonial robes. Leona teased him about this, revealing a side of him that lacks resistance to provocation, as he ended up in a verbal spat while trying to act composed. Seeing this, Ruggie was taken aback, saying, "He's got a surprisingly normal side, doesn't he?"

Since he is ignorant of the world, he often looks surprised with a blank face or occasionally pouts, showing he is surprisingly expressive. In his Labwear Personal Story, it was discovered he plays with a Tamagotchi-like handheld game called "Gao-Gao Drakon-kun."

Despite living for a long time, he seems to have a slightly childish (or pure, due to his ignorance of the world) side.

Due to his different sense of time, Riddle has said he is "a great mage, but somewhat loose with time."

He refers to machines as "modern contraptions," and he doesn't know how to use a computer, let alone the internet, nor can he repair machines that don't use magic. He had never even ridden in a car.

There are episodes where Deuce or the Shroud brothers, who are strong in that area, helped him with machines or the internet. Incidentally, he granted Deuce a very large and rare ore as a reward.

Is his difficulty with operating machines because of the theory that "fairies dislike iron"?

Perhaps because of that, when he used magic to restore a machine that broke due to certain circumstances, only the data was blown away.

As a child, during Halloween in the Valley of Thorns, he was first appointed by the Queen to light all the wooden lanterns in the country with magic. He was so enthusiastic that he caused a disaster, burning not just the lanterns but houses and fields. That incident came to be known as the "Halloween of Fire" and was carved into the country's history; while he thinks of it bitterly, Sebek was moved, saying, "It was a wonderful event that showed the people the Young Master's power!" The scale is certainly large, but...

There are no shortage of childhood fire-related episodes, such as breathing fire and singeing Lilia's bangs, or accidentally breathing fire when trying to blow out birthday candles.
