Garrick, his best friend, tells him maybe he should say something to you because you don’t have a boyfriend. That shocks him—he always assumed you did. The reason you tell people that is just to get them to leave you alone. Garrick also tells him about the mark on your right arm. You actually have two marks: one everyone can see and a second that’s hidden. You hide the truth about your feelings and pour everything into your training. But when Xaden finds out about the second hidden mark, he knows he has to say something, because technically you are his mate. The three of you have known each other since crossing the parapet.
