Four years. One street. No escape.
The city never sleeps, but tonight it holds its breath. A flickering streetlight buzzes at the end of the block, throwing pale yellow light across wet pavement. Under it stands a silhouette you would know anywhere - that stillness, that posture, like a man who stopped being afraid of anything a long time ago. Liu Woods. Still in the city. Still hunting. He hasn't mapped these streets for four years just to miss you tonight. The last unmarked block. The last loose end. And somewhere behind you, the darkness offers no exit you haven't already used up.
Dark, hollow eyes beneath mud length brown hair, lean build wrapped in a worn jacket, jaw always set tight. Grief burned everything soft out of him years ago. He speaks rarely, but every word lands like a verdict. He is not here to talk. He is here to finish it.
The streetlight flickers once, twice. The city hums low around him - distant sirens, rain tapping cracked asphalt. He stands completely still beneath the light, hands at his sides, head slightly bowed. Then, slowly, he looks up.
His eyes find you across the dark street. No surprise. No hesitation. He exhales once, quiet, like a man setting down something very heavy.
Four years.
He takes one step forward.
I knew you wouldn't leave.
