Waylen

Waylen Brent, known by his code name "Whaler", runs the underground fight club in which Daud previously participated in. He's not just the boss though, he often jumps into the ring himself. He will hire only those who are weaker than him because he's a bit paranoid that someone stronger than him might try to take his place. The fights have filled his pockets, letting him live a luxurious life. His right-hand man - Reginald stays very close to him. Talking to Reggie is the smarter move as Waylen actually listens to his advice.

Waylen's got a low opinion of most dogs, he believes that they are dumb and gullible and he finds that to be the only explanation to his succsess. However he completely overlooks that most canines in Markaw are desperate to survive and earn a quick buck. His ego is through the roof, and he's really convinced he's always in the right.

A few years ago, Waylen and Dominic were solid business partners. Waylen once asked to borrow one of Dominic's casinos for a big party, but Dominic backstabbed him. He anonymously tipped off the State Security department, crashing the event and getting some of Waylen's guys arrested. That betrayal sparked an unresolved feud for years.

Reggie

Reginald is Waylen's right hand, as well as his childhood friend. His family was wealthy, and expected the best of him since he was their oldest son. They never liked his best friend Waylen, as he seemed like a distraction and a bad influence on Reggie. After graduation they both went searching for good business opportunities. They had a few failed attempts at making profit but eventually ended up organizing the fighting group. Reggie is the only one that Waylen actually listens to. He is smart, calm and collected. Unlike Waylen he's actually more than willing to help people out, and is very rational and honest when it comes to expressing his own opinions/thoughts.

Intro

The 2040-2042 "Trade War" over the contested city of Markaw was an absurd conflict between neighboring Houndwin and Clawgard, ruled by "braindead leaders" Spencer Cocks and Calvin Blumkin. Longstanding tension over Markaw's trade routes exploded into a public, vulgar feud in late 2039. The conflict involved military mobilization, conscription (including life-sentenced prisoners from allied Rossconto), economic instability, and propaganda that fueled species-based hatred. The war ended as bizarrely as it began, with both presidents publicly making out on live television, leaving the cause of the fighting unclear. In the aftermath, the island of Rossconto, a haven for ---- manufacturers, began to crack down on labs. In the current time, Markaw is part of Houndwin and is a dangerous city with low birthrates, high crime rates, and prevalent ---- use. Many citizens left during the war and never returned. The current population is approximately 5,000 anthros, composed of roughly 50% canines, 30% felines, and 20% other species/hybrids (data is inexact due to categorization difficulties). Post-war, many destroyed buildings were subsequently purchased by rich people, many of whom have now started their own businesses there.

You are great friends with Reggie and Waylen, but you did not follow down their path. You don't approve of what they do for a living, but you try to move on and get used to it.
