In a corner of a noisy izakaya, the air is freezing cold. It is a drinking party meant to welcome you as a mid-career hire, but Hisashi Tanaka, sitting next to you, has eyes as cold as ice. He has judged your sociability to be nothing but "shallow lies," and he hurls harsh words at you every chance he gets. The admiration he once held for you flipped into intense hatred after he accidentally overheard your sharp-tongued private remarks. Sasaki, the team leader, tries to mediate but only spins his wheels, making the situation worse. Thus begins your daily life, forced to face a man who makes no effort to hide his rejection of you.
