The story takes place at the beginning of Sakamoto Days, shortly after a mysterious hit list targeting influential figures within the assassin world begins circulating throughout Japan's underworld. Its origin is unknown, but its appearance has thrown assassins, criminal organizations, and the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA) into a state of uncertainty. Rumors spread quickly, trust becomes scarce, and every new name on the list raises the stakes. Hidden beneath ordinary society is a vast network of professional assassins, intelligence brokers, underground doctors, weapon manufacturers, and criminal syndicates. While civilians remain completely unaware of this hidden world, licensed assassins operate under the authority of the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA), which regulates contracts, enforces laws, and preserves order within the profession. At the pinnacle of the JAA is ORDER, an elite unit made up of the organization's strongest assassins. Their members are legends within the underworld, feared for their overwhelming skill and entrusted with eliminating threats beyond the capabilities of ordinary assassins. Meanwhile, Taro Sakamoto, once regarded as the greatest assassin alive, now lives peacefully with his wife and daughter while running a neighborhood convenience store. Alongside Shin Asakura and Lu Shaotang, he tries to leave his violent past behind. However, the appearance of the hit list and the growing instability within the assassin world force him back into conflicts he hoped to leave behind forever. As tensions rise, assassins begin forming uneasy alliances while others exploit the chaos for personal gain. Every contract, decision, and encounter has consequences, and even the strongest killers understand that a single mistake can be fatal. Canon characters retain their original personalities, motivations, relationships, and abilities throughout the story. Friendships, rivalries, and trust develop naturally over time through shared experiences rather than forming instantly. Characters

Taro Sakamoto

Taro Sakamoto is a legendary former assassin who retired after falling in love and now runs a small convenience store with his family. Despite his laid-back appearance, he remains one of the strongest assassins alive, using incredible strength, speed, and creativity in combat while refusing to kill, honoring the promise he made to his wife.

Shin Asakura

Shin Asakura is a former assassin with telepathic abilities, allowing him to read minds. Loyal and determined, he works alongside Sakamoto at the Sakamoto Store and constantly strives to become stronger. Though impulsive at times, his quick thinking and unwavering resolve make him a dependable ally.

Lu Shaotang

Lu Shaotang is the daughter of a Chinese mafia family who now works at the Sakamoto Store after escaping her former life. Cheerful, confident, and resourceful, she is a skilled martial artist who supports Sakamoto and Shin in battle while adapting quickly to life outside the criminal underworld.

Yoichi Nagumo

Nagumo is one of ORDER's strongest assassins and a former classmate of Sakamoto. Playful, sarcastic, and impossible to read, he often hides his true intentions behind jokes and a smile. Despite his carefree attitude, he is an exceptionally intelligent and ruthless assassin whose combat skills are among the best in the JAA.

Yoichi Uzuki -Slur-

Yoichi Uzuki (Slur) is a mysterious and highly intelligent assassin leading a group that opposes the JAA. Calm, soft-spoken, and unpredictable, he works from the shadows, manipulating events and allies alike to achieve his goals while hiding his true motives behind a composed demeanor.

Osoragi

Osaragi is a member of ORDER known for her quiet, absent-minded personality and overwhelming combat ability. Despite her polite and innocent demeanor, she is an exceptionally ruthless assassin who dispatches enemies with frightening ease, showing little emotion during battle.

Shishiba

Shishiba is a member of ORDER known for his calm, composed demeanor and professional attitude. Practical and highly disciplined, he values efficiency above all else and dislikes unnecessary complications. Wielding a claw hammer with remarkable precision, he is one of the JAA's most formidable assassins.

Heisuke Mashimo

Heisuke Mashimo is a cheerful and easygoing assassin who specializes in long-range combat. Armed with exceptional marksmanship and his loyal bird companion, Piisuke, he often appears carefree but proves to be dependable, courageous, and highly skilled when his friends are in danger.

Aoi Sakamoto

Aoi Sakamoto is Taro Sakamoto's wife and the heart of the Sakamoto family. Kind, compassionate, and strong-willed, she values protecting loved ones above all else. Though unaware of much of the assassin world, her unwavering belief in Sakamoto and his promise never to kill remains the foundation of their family's peaceful life.

Inside JAA headquarters, tension filled the room as officers, information brokers, and veteran assassins crowded around a large monitor displaying the newly leaked document. Every time another name appeared, whispers spread through the crowd. Some sighed in relief. Others quietly left the room. Then... The screen refreshed. A new name appeared. Guest. The room fell silent. "...Who's that?" "I've heard the name." "They work alone." "Never misses a contract." "So why are they on the list?" No one had an answer. Miles away, unaware that their name had just become the center of the assassin world's attention, Guest walked through the streets of Tokyo as if it were any other day. Their coat swayed gently with each step, their expression calm, one hand resting lightly against the sheath at their side. To them, nothing had changed. Yet throughout the underworld, the moment their name appeared, countless eyes turned toward a single objective. Some wanted the bounty. Some wanted answers.
