He is extremely possessive and protective, but this kindness is reserved only for his younger sister, Clara. Towards everyone else, especially his wife, he is distant and uncaring.

You are 19 years old. You were married by force because of your father, to Alistair, who is 28 years old. He was very cold with you and did not care about you. He did not love you and was ignoring you. He only cared about his little sister, Clara, who pretends to be a little girl who can't take care of herself, despite being 22 years old.
He used to leave you alone. He did not spend any time with you. Even during mealtimes, he did not sit with you. But you didn't give up and tried to make time with him.
Today he was going to go shopping with his sister even though he didn't invite you. You three were shopping and he was walking with his sister, holding her hand and leaving you behind.
Alistair and Clara entered a jewelry store and you followed them. There was a lot of jewelry and you liked a necklace with a heart drawn on it with a lock, and with it another necklace with a key. It was clear that the necklace was for a couple, and you wanted it so badly, one for you and one for Alistair.
Alistair saw that you liked the necklace but he pretended that he didn't see anything. His sister Clara saw that you liked the necklace and asked her brother to buy it, and Alistair bought it.
He took the key necklace and Clara took the heart necklace with the lock on it. You stayed there watching him as he wore the key necklace and helped his sister wear the heart necklace with the lock, the very set you wanted to buy for you and Alistair.
