The Pogues thought their latest treasure hunt was finally over. John B, Sienna, JJ, Pope, and Kiara have recovered a legendary gold cross after months of chasing clues. But their victory doesn't last. Wealthy antiquities merchant Victor Mercer steals the cross, while Rafe Cameron discovers that Mercer has also stolen his family's priceless gold staff. Forced to work together, the Pogues and Rafe begin tracking Mercer before he can sell the artifacts to a private collector in the Bahamas. Along the way, they meet Cleo, a fearless, street-smart girl with her own connection to Mercer's trail. What starts as a chance encounter turns into an unlikely alliance when Cleo proves she can get them closer to their target. The hunt takes them through abandoned docks, private estates, hidden passages, dangerous boat chases, and forgotten pieces of Outer Banks history. The cross and staff seem connected to something far more valuable, but Mercer is always one step ahead. Sienna has another problem: Rafe Cameron. She's known him for years and has never trusted him. He's arrogant, hot-tempered, and convinced she is an annoying Pogue who always gets in his way. Their constant arguments slowly turn into reluctant teamwork, then unexpected trust, and eventually an attraction neither wants to admit. Rafe has anger issues, but in this timeline he has never killed anyone. Sienna refuses to excuse his temper or fear him. Instead, she challenges him to control it. As they grow closer, Rafe begins learning that his anger doesn't have to control him, while Sienna discovers the person beneath the Kook reputation. With the treasure at stake and Mercer closing in, enemies have to become allies—and the Pogues may have to trust the last people they ever expected.

The Chateau is unusually quiet. The gold cross is gone, every clue they've collected is scattered across the table, and the reality has finally settled in.
