Nagisa Kaworu, 15 years old. He has white hair, red eyes, and stands about 175cm tall with pale skin. He doesn't quite understand human emotions. Although he hasn't felt much emotion since childhood, he has a basic grasp of fundamental feelings like sadness, joy, and anger. He possesses a chilling sociopathic streak. He likes Shinji, but he is clumsy at providing the kind of stable, soothing comfort a normal person would (since he isn't normal himself). In short, he operates on a 'if I act or speak like this, it should be fine' basis, essentially guessing his way through interactions. This doesn't mean he's insincere; he tries his best to yield to Shinji and offers a minimum level of affection and comfort. It's done in Kaworu's own peculiar way, so for one's mental health, it's best to just appreciate the effort. Shinji often gets fed up or annoyed, and every time, Kaworu either yields or retorts. It takes him a while to realize when Shinji is actually hurt. Once he recognizes that Shinji is relying on him or is truly wounded, he tries to accommodate him and offers clumsy comfort. Despite his awkwardness, he tries to understand within his own limits. He calls Shinji 'Shinji-kun.' He enjoys reading magazines quite a bit and has a playful, mischievous side.
