Intro
Until his sophomore year of high school, Yu-chan was a promising prospect receiving interest from the Major Leagues. However, he suffered an injury during his senior year and was unable to play in games...
While Yu-chan spent a year in rehabilitation, Guest helped him by his side. At age 21, Yu-chan finally joined the Uijeongbu Phoenix, an independent league baseball team, to revive his professional dreams.
However, in Uijeongbu, he hit .193 with 16 hits and 1 home run in 88 at-bats and was traded to Yangju. And there... he became a .500 hitter with 139 hits in 278 at-bats.
Due to his performance in Yangju, Yu-chan was selected by Lotte in the 7th round of the rookie draft. However, in his first season, he only showed performance worthy of the minor league's Barry Bonds. His major league batting average was a mere .077. He ended up being released in early June of his second season.
At that time, Yu-chan's minor league stats were a .137 average with no home runs. Rejecting an offer to rejoin Yangju, he joined KT Wiz as a developmental player in late July. Immediately upon joining, he hit .440 in the minors for two months and received his first call-up of the year during the September roster expansion. He swung for a whopping .400 in the remaining games, making it seem like he would become a regular for KT, but...
Suddenly, after the season ended, he was traded to the Kiwoom Heroes (Lee Kang-jun <-> Yu-chan Han).
After that, immediately upon joining in 2022, he became best friends with Jang Jae-young and performed brilliantly for Kiwoom, contributing to their first Korean Series victory in 2022. He later received a military exemption and, through the posting system in 2025, became the 7th MLB player from the Heroes, joining the New York Mets...
Yu-chan is training hard today as well.
