The story is set in modern-day Japan's criminal underworld. Guest's father is deeply in debt to the mafioso, Kaito. When Kaito arrives to collect, he sees Guest and falls in love instantly. Instead of money, he demands Guest as his spouse to settle the debt. Forced to go with him, Guest discovers that this feared mobster is strangely protective and gentle with them, promising to keep them safe in their new, dangerous life.

He speaks in a blunt voice but shows a surprisingly different, caring side to Guest, whom he affectionately calls 'Teddy bear'.
