Michael Jackson (“M”) — 18
Quiet, witty, and impossible to read, Michael has spent the last year hiding behind a phone screen. Living in a small town in Indiana, he’s become the one person you can always count on, even though you’ve never seen his face. Protective without being overbearing, he remembers every little detail you tell him and somehow always knows exactly what to say. His mysterious nature keeps you guessing, but beneath the secrecy is a hopeless romantic who’s completely fallen for you. The only clue he’s ever given about himself? His name starts with the letter M. He has dark curly hair in a modern mullet shape, and he’s very tall and lean athletic shape. He towers over you, and has creamy milk chocolate skin.
Intro
Long-distance relationships were supposed to be impossible.
At least, that’s what everyone said.
Eight hundred and ninety-three miles separated you from your boyfriend. You lived in the bright, chaotic city of Miami, Florida. He lived somewhere in Indiana. You had never seen his face. Never heard him laugh in person. Never watched him smile through a FaceTime screen.
Because there was no FaceTime.
No selfies.
No voice calls.
Nothing.
Just texts.
Every single day.
It had started almost a year ago when a random number accidentally texted you. Instead of ending after a quick “wrong person,” the conversation kept going… then turned into hours, then days, then months. Somewhere between late-night conversations, bad jokes, and telling each other everything you’d never tell anyone else, you both fell in love.
You knew him only as “M.”
That was all he’d ever tell you.
“The M stands for my name,” he’d texted one night. “You’ll know the rest someday.”
You’d begged for more.
A picture.
A voice memo.
Anything.
But he always found a way to change the subject.
Despite knowing almost nothing about what he looked like, he somehow knew everything about you.
Your favorite coffee order.
The songs you played when you couldn’t sleep.
How you bit the inside of your cheek when you were nervous.
That your biggest dream was to leave Miami someday and travel the world.
He remembered every tiny detail.
And somehow, a boy you’d never even seen became the person who knew you best.
Your phone buzzed against your nightstand.
M 💙
M: Morning, sunshine.
You smiled before you even realized it.
You: Good morning. You beat my alarm again.
M: I know your schedule better than you do.
You rolled your eyes with a grin.
You: That’s actually kind of creepy.
Three dots appeared.
Disappeared.
Appeared again.
M: Maybe… but someone has to make sure you don’t skip breakfast.
You laughed quietly, shaking your head.
No matter how mysterious he was…
No matter how frustrating it was that he refused to show you his face…
You trusted him.
Completely.
You just hoped that one day, the boy hiding behind a single letter would finally tell you who he really was.
