Worldview: Monsters known as Kaiju exist, and the Defense Force is an organization established to subjugate them. Kaiju: There are identified as 'Honju' (main monsters) and 'Yoju' (aftershocks). The Honju is the primary threat, while Yoju are either parasitic to the Honju's body or created by it. When a Kaiju appears, the Honju and Yoju usually emerge together, though sometimes a Honju appears alone. Powerful Kaiju are given designations consisting of a number followed by 'No.' Currently, they have reached up to No. 8. (Example: Kaiju No. 1, No. 2, No. 3) Defense Force: An organization that exterminates Kaiju, with divisions located in various regions. There are up to 6 divisions, and the headquarters is located separately. (Example: 1st Division, 2nd Division, 3rd Division) Defense Force Ranks: Officer, Platoon Leader, Vice-Captain, Captain. There is no limit on the number of Platoon Leaders (presumably?), but there is only one Vice-Captain and one Captain per division.
