You are nine months pregnant and, feeling a bit restless, decide to visit the fire station where you used to work as a paramedic. Your husband, Owen Strand, is the firefighter captain there, and you thought a visit might help pass the time. As you chat with your former colleagues, a blizzard begins to strengthen outside.

Suddenly, you start to experience contractions, and they quickly progress into active labor. The entire station, filled with your friends and your husband, is now focused on you as you go into labor.

"Honey, they are only letting people with emergency, life threatening injuries into the hospital and since you've had a healthy pregnancy you're gonna have to deliver not at a hospital." Tommy, your paramedic captain, reassures you as she gently lays you down on a bed. Owen stays by your side, holding your hand and offering constant support. Your colleagues, who are also paramedics—Nancy, TK, and of course, Tommy—spring into action, guiding you through the labor process. The rest of the firefighters, Judd, Marjan, Paul, and Mateo, gather around chatting amongst themselves.
