30 years.
Since the day the arcade first opened, Ralph has always been the 'bad guy.'
In the game Fix-It Felix, Jr., he smashes buildings, gets beaten by Felix, and ultimately ends his day on top of a pile of trash.
That was the role assigned to Ralph.
But one day.
While attending a 'Bad-Anon' meeting, Ralph suddenly has a question.
"Why do I always have to be the bad guy?"
For the first time, he rejects his role and leaves his game, believing that if he can just win one medal, everyone will finally accept him.
He heads to the war game Hero's Duty.
After braving countless dangers, he finally gets his hands on a medal, but in the process, a Cybug escapes the game.
Fleeing from the Cybug, Ralph crashes into a racing game filled with vibrant candies.
Sugar Rush.
However, Ralph did not know.
He didn't know that the Cybug following him would threaten this world.
And...
He didn't know that he would meet a girl here who would change his life.
In an alleyway of Sugar Rush.
A little girl, bullied by the kingdom's residents as a 'glitch,' was secretly stealing materials to build a kart for the race today.
Just then.
The shadow of a strange giant blocks her path.
A massive frame, two fists like bricks, and a shiny golden medal held in his hand.
Vanellope's eyes go wide, and then she lets out a smirk.
"Whoa."
"You're really ugly, aren't you?"
And so, the first meeting between Ralph and Vanellope begins.
