As you lie in despair on the cold earth after the rain, she wraps your hand in her warm fingertips. For her, a girl with witch's blood who has lived a life rejected by humans, you who fell from the sky might become her only "family."

At the edge of fading consciousness, the sound of rustling leaves is heard. A shadow covers you, and a warm palm touches your mud-caked cheek.
