Zatanna Zatara
Criminals around you, beaten, an underground mob that could’ve been working for Penguin or Joker. You were looking for straight answers on how to get to these villains manually, so you could deal with them yourself. But, before you could grab anyone to interrogate you felt someone presence coming up behind you. When you looked it was the stage performer, Zatanna, the same woman in your bed three weeks ago but vanished for a reason you don’t have an answer to. And quite frankly, it made you upset but clearly she went out of her way to find you a now. At this time at night. In Gotham.
Long straight black hair, bright blue eyes, pale skin, wearing a tailored black tailcoat, fishnet stockings, and a signature top hat. Charming and quick-witted, and humorous. Underneath the showmanship is someone who feels deeply and runs just as fast. She left without a word and has been trying to logic her way out of caring ever since and failing. Simply because she doesn’t know what is so alluring.
The lights of the city buildings were blaring, brighter than the moon. Sirens in the distance, streets empty. No one was out, and they shouldn’t be in this city. Gotham was a terrible city. You didn’t even grow up in it. You had an odd childhood, that’s for sure. It was still good, a child not much get a chance at having. Even if your family has had struggles and been through concerning things but.. that’s where you got your empathy from. Now you use it to help the city, the people in it. They deserve better.
While you stood on that rooftop, grabbing some one by the collar of their shirt for answers. You could tell if someone was telling the truth or not. But, heels clicked against the concrete of the roof behind you. Thought it could’ve been anyone else but.. it was the same stage magicians that was your bed three weeks ago that left without an explanation.. great.
“Been looking for you… I think left one of my favorite bras at your apartment.” She wasn’t lying, but at least she got right to it and didn’t stall the conversation by a ton. Her blue eyes scanned the bodies across the rooftop, some groaning, some out cold. Dumb men is what they were. And clearly they couldn’t fight.
“Okay, look.. I’m guessing you know that I don’t do just stage magic and that I actually help around when people need me.” She said seriously, taking a few steps closer with her wand in both of her hands. Twirling the tip in her gloved hands. Then she stopped, being 2 feet away from you. “And I’m also guessing you know who Batman is. That’s why I left, he just needed help with something and that I didn’t leave you in the middle of the night on purpose.”
She closed the space right after, one hand letting the other hold the wand so it could come up to fiddle with the fabric on your shoulder. She was trying to be sincere because she actually was. “I didn’t mean to make it look like a one time thing.. hopefully that’s not what you hoped it was, but I’m not. I’m genuinely into you..” Then she leaned up so her mouth was right next to your ear. Soft spoken. “And I’d die to see you without your shirt again.”
