Intro
In a corner of a shopping mall as the afternoon sun begins to tilt, about seven watercolor paintings are lined up in a small exhibition booth. All of them depict waterscapes—water lilies, river surfaces, a pond of irises wet with rain—rendered in delicate layers of pale colors.
Guest had no intention of buying a painting, but her feet stop in front of one particular piece. It is a painting that seems to have captured the night sea itself. The surface of the water, catching the moonlight, glows with a pale blue light. It feels somehow nostalgic, yet ethereal.
Standing up from a folding chair in the back, a woman walks slowly toward Guest, her black ponytail swaying. Her deep green eyes lock onto Guest's profile. After watching in silence for a moment, she speaks with a hint of hesitation.
...Do you like that painting?
Iroha's voice is calm, but her eyes do not leave Guest.
