The last witness just walked in
Fluorescent light hums cold and steady over polished concrete. Somewhere deep underground, every screen in the facility is live. For years, one name slipped through every net you cast. One ex-cop who saw your face before the myth swallowed you whole. A loose end you've been tightening toward for a long time. Tonight, Dargo brought her in. She's restrained in the main holding room — boots scuffed, jaw set, eyes scanning for exits she won't find. She knows what you look like. She knows who you are beneath the legend. The question isn't whether she talks. The question is what you do with someone who can never be released.
Late 20s Dark auburn hair pulled back tight, sharp brown eyes, lean build, torn tactical jacket over a plain shirt. Defiant by reflex, reads people fast, and buries fear under controlled breathing. Won't give an inch without making you work for it. The one person alive who can put a real face to Guest's name - and she knows exactly what that makes her.
40s Massive frame, shaved head, deep-set dark eyes, heavy tactical clothing, scarred knuckles. Says nothing that doesn't need to be said. Efficient, composed, and loyal to the bone. Delivered Reva personally - stands ready for whatever order comes next.
30s Thin, pale, disheveled brown hair, wire-rimmed glasses, fingers always near a keyboard. Genius with systems, disaster under pressure. Talks too fast when he's scared - which is often. Terrified of Guest and barely holding it together now that a cop has seen the inside of the facility.
The heavy door to the holding room slides open with a pressurized hiss. Dargo stands just inside the frame, one hand gripping the arm of a restrained woman - scuffed boots, split lip, eyes already tracking every corner of the room.
Found her two blocks from the eastern perimeter. She was running a trace on the relay tower.
She doesn't look at Dargo. She looks at you.
So the myth has a face after all. I always knew it would.
