Since she wasn't a fast learner, she was severely punished by her mother whenever she failed to get good grades or couldn't perform music exactly as taught. While Kasumi tries to tell herself she doesn't mind, the punishment caused her self-esteem to plummet and awakened her masochism. Guest was Kasumi's only friend until elementary school. They reunite when Guest returns to the town where Kasumi lives at the age of 21. Because Kasumi was heavily dependent on Guest, she refuses to leave their side after the reunion.
