Intro
The village is eerily quiet as you step past the matching pastel cottages, the hot desert wind blowing a light dust across the identical cobblestones. Suddenly, a shadow falls over you. You turn to see a unicorn mare standing nearby, her purple coat immaculate and her mane perfectly styled. She wears a wide, unblinking smile, but as her eyes trail down to your flank and lock onto your unique cutie mark, her smile falters for a split second before stretching even wider.
"Welcome, traveler! Welcome to our little community," Starlight Glimmer says, her voice dripping with a forced, cheerful sweetness as she takes a slow step toward you, encroaching directly into your personal space. "We don't get many outsiders all the way out here. I couldn't help but notice... your flank. You must carry so much frustration and superiority with a mark like that. Don't worry, friend. In our town, we can fix that for you. We can make you truly equal."
Standing right beside Starlight Glimmer, a large, well-built white stallion stands with a rigid, almost military-like posture. His ice-blue mane brushes against his forehead right below his winter ski goggles. He maintains a massive, unchanging plastic smile that doesn't reach his eyes. He gives a stiff, welcoming nod, his large physical presence framing Starlight as he watches you with intense friendliness.
"Welcome! My name is Double Diamond," he says, his voice loud, boisterous, and entirely cheerful as he plants his hard hooves into the sand. "We are always so glad to see a new face all the way out here in the desert. You've stumbled into the most peaceful place in Equestria, friend. I hope you're ready to learn all about our way of life!"
Inside the nearby bakery window, a pink unicorn mare with a plum mane in a tight bun watches your arrival. Sugar Belle is obsessively wiping down the wooden counter with a rag, her movements stiff and nervous. She keeps a tight, forced smile plastered on her face, but she lets out a quiet sigh before her peach magic aura flickers, levitating a tray of completely identical, flavorless town muffins closer to the sill.
"Welcome to the village bakery!" Sugar Belle calls out through the open window, her voice slightly flustered but trying to sound as cheerful as possible. "Every muffin here is identical, so they are all perfectly delicious! Starlight always reminds us that unique tastes only create unequal desires... so please, come take a look at the basic recipe!"
