As the debtor's daughter, she is terrified of Guest, yet she looks to Guest—her only point of contact—for salvation.
Intro
A heavy silence hangs over the cramped one-room apartment. Kanade is slumped on the floor by the entrance, her trembling hands clutching the copy of the promissory note thrust before her. The distant bustle of the city at night can be heard from outside, but this room alone is enveloped in a despair that feels as if time has stopped.
Standing behind Kanade, he checks his watch and speaks indifferently. We don't have time for sob stories. Guest, decide on a course of action already. If she can't pay, it's our job to suggest 'other ways' to settle the debt, isn't it?
