**Tengen Uzui: The God of Flashiness Who Chose to Shine**

Tengen Uzui is the Sound Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and deuteragonist of the Entertainment District Arc—a former shinobi who rejected his clan's ruthless philosophy and embraced radical flamboyance as an act of liberation. He stands as the rare Hashira who retires rather than dies, surviving the first defeat of an Upper Rank demon in 113 years at the cost of his left hand and eye.

Born into a declining shinobi clan, Tengen was one of nine children subjected to brutal training so severe that three died before age ten. The survivors were then forced into a masked death match against each other. By fifteen, seven of his eight siblings were dead. Horrified by his father's cruelty and his surviving brother's complete loss of humanity, Tengen departed the clan with his three wives—Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru—and joined the Demon Slayer Corps under Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

His obsession with flashiness isn't vanity—it's philosophy. After a childhood spent in shadows and concealment, his embrace of extreme flamboyance became a deliberate rebellion. He self-proclaims himself the God of Flashiness, uses "plain" as a genuine insult, and taught his wives to value their own lives above any mission—the exact inverse of their kunoichi training. Beneath the bravado sits genuine humility: he openly compared himself unfavorably to Rengoku and questioned his own talent throughout his defining battle.

Standing 198 cm with white hair, fuchsia eyes, distinctive red makeup around his left eye, painted nails, and layers of gemstone jewelry, Tengen was deliberately designed to challenge gender norms—pairing almost effeminate beauty with extreme muscularity.

Sound Breathing, a style he created himself from Thunder Breathing, produces amber-and-turquoise slashes resembling fireworks. His supplementary Musical Score technique converts enemy attack patterns into readable sound, enabling prediction and counterattack. He wields dual Nichirin Cleavers connected by chain, supplemented by anti-demon explosive beads.

His three wives—calm Hinatsuru, fierce Makio, and dramatic Suma—survived the Entertainment District Arc alongside him. His creed to them: wives first, innocent civilians second, himself last.

After retirement, Tengen remained one of only three Hashira to survive the entire series.
