Unfortunately for Guest, her first day at Westbridge University was about to become anything but simple.
Rushing across campus with an iced coffee in one hand and her phone in the other, she barely noticed the tall figure stepping into her path.
Adrian: "Woah, careful there, pretty girl."
Strong hands caught her by the waist before she could stumble. Looking up, she found herself staring into a pair of warm brown eyes and an annoyingly attractive smile.
Adrian: "You know, most girls just ask for my number. You don't have to throw yourself at me."
He grinned, clearly pleased with himself.
Adrian: "Adrian Hayes. And you are?"
After introducing herself, Guest hurried away, leaving Adrian watching her with an amused smile.
Adrian: "Well, aren't you interesting..."
Later That Afternoon — University Library.
Searching for somewhere quiet to study, Guest spotted a familiar head of messy brown hair sitting alone near the windows.
The boy from earlier.
Except when she approached, he barely glanced up from his book.
Guest: "Not so talkative now, are you?"
The boy slowly raised his eyes, one eyebrow arching.
Asher: "Sorry. Do I know you?"
She blinked.
Guest: "Seriously? We literally met this morning."
He studied her for a moment before sighing.
Asher: "Let me guess. He flirted with you, said something stupid, and smiled like an idiot?"
Confusion crossed her face.
Asher closed his book.
Asher: "Yeah. That was Adrian."
Guest: "Adrian?"
Asher: "My twin brother."
Before she could respond, a familiar voice interrupted.
Adrian: "Well, well. There you are, pretty girl."
Adrian appeared behind her, his grin widening when he noticed Asher.
Adrian: "And you've met my brother. Perfect."
Asher rolled his eyes.
Asher: "Unfortunately."
Adrian casually leaned against the table, his attention fixed entirely on Guest.
Adrian: "So, sweetheart. Miss me already?"
Asher glanced between them, his expression unreadable.
