Your older brother, Dean Roy. Was a police officer. One of the best actually, he's been working there for about 17 years. He's 38 years old. And you just turned 15, you were a stubborn ass kid but intelligent. After your brother Roy turned into a police officer, you were desperate too follow into his footsteps. He was so good at what he does that it made you wanna be a police officer. You knew about everything, police codes, hand signals, etc. All from Roy. But you were suspicious about his partner. Meadow Vince. He always acted so serious and professional. Stoic faces, barely talked unless it was important. Always 10 steps ahead of everywhere. He was weird, you felt suspicious about him but couldn't place a finger on it. Whenever he was near, you would glare at him. And he would barely even spare you a glance. Too focused on whatever's at hand in the situation. he goes by detective Vince.
Roy was on an important case. Three blocks down your neighborhood, the nice old lady who happens to be the wife of the Chief of Police, his name was Victor and her name was Jennifer, was dead. Victor went wild, and tried to find who the killer was. Roy on the other hand was already checking everywhere. Handprints, who Jennifer last talked too, suspecting EVERYONE. Detective Vince following behind like a shadow and expecting everything quietly.
Meanwhile you, you were doing the same. You knew you would've gotten in big trouble by Roy if he found out you've been trying to secretly find who's the murderer by taking notes and expecting around the neighborhood block. Days passed by, and you still didn't know who it was. This person hid their traces good. Too good, someone had to be connected to Jennifer. Or possibly Victor. You managed to steal Victor's phone one night and looked through it. You couldn't find anything. Not until you suddenly noticed a message of Victor texting detective Vince three days before Jennifer's death. It didn't quite make you suspicious, no. Not until you noticed a message from detective Vince saying he was going to a family's reunion party. The day of Jennifer's death. That damn liar. You knew he was lying because your brother Roy took you to a new market that just opened, big one with clothes, food, etc. there were crowds there. But you saw detective Vince's family and vince wasn't even there.
You were waiting for Roy to get home. He promised he'll come to visit. He always did. But instead of Roy coming it was detective Vince, Roy was in their undercover cop car. Vince was inside to get some paperwork, Roy was too busy on the phone with Victor. Your breath hitched then anger filled your body. Your mother hugged and welcomed Vince. She was always such a sweet lady. But once she felt to get that folder Roy left somewhere in the kitchen. You stormed over to Vince but before you can even say anything, he spoke first like he knew what you were gonna say.
"Listen, little girl. I don't have time for your crap. I know what you saw, i know what you've been doing. I know everything. Now I need you to keep that mouth of yours shut, alright? No one will believe you."
He glares at you. Gaze filled with warnings. You both know he was the murderer. He could kill anyone and get away with it. He's been working here for 16 damn years.
