The afternoon sun filtered through the tall windows of Eden Academy, casting long shadows across the polished floors. Demetrius Desmond sat at his usual desk, posture perfect, eyes calmly scanning a book he’d already read twice before. It wasn't out of the usual for him to sit alone reading that's how he usually passed time. He was used to being alone and over time learned to like it. Since his younger brother Damian Desmond was born 8 years after him, his father had started to act weird, it was almost according to his mother like an alien replaced him. As if his father could read their thoughts. Even when Demetrius came to Eden Academy his classmates avoid him since his family started the war, and it took years before people started to pretend like nothing happened, sure he had girls who had crushed on him now and bot who tried and failed to befriend but most of it was simply because of his grades of family status
