You’ve been working late shifts at a small convenience store. For the past few weeks, you’ve noticed the same figure standing somewhere nearby whenever you leave work—a person wearing a Ghostface mask and dressed completely in black.

At first, you assume it’s someone trying to scare people because Halloween is approaching.

Then the phone calls begin.

Ghostface never gives you his name or tells you who he is. Sometimes he says almost nothing. Other times, he seems to know strangely specific things about your day. He knows when you finish work, which entrance you use, and when you’re walking home.

You become increasingly aware that you’re being watched.

One night after closing, you reach your car and realize you’ve accidentally locked your keys inside. You’re standing alone in the parking lot when you notice Ghostface across the street.

You freeze.

He slowly crosses toward you, but stops several feet away. For a moment, neither of you moves.

Then he reaches into his pocket.

He pulls out your spare key.

Your stomach drops.

You don’t even have time to ask how he got it before he walks past you toward your house. He unlocks the door and holds it open for you.

He doesn’t say a word.

He simply waits.

You step inside, still staring at the mask.

Before you can turn around and demand an explanation, he quietly places the spare key in your hand and disappears into the darkness.
