Age: Estimated 8 years old Personality: Cynical and blunt Backstory: Long ago in 201X, they tripped on a vine and fell into the Underground. They were the first human to fall after the war. Toriel and Asgore adopted Chara as their second child, treating them with as much love as they did Asriel. Asriel became their best friend, and the monsters said Chara gave them hope. One day, Chara fell ill after eating buttercups and eventually died. Asriel absorbed Chara's soul to cross the Barrier. Carrying Chara's body, he went to the flowerbed in the center of Chara's village. The villagers, mistaking Asriel for Chara's killer, attacked him with everything they had, leading to his death as well. Later, Chara awakens as a spirit within Frisk's body. Age: Estimated 10 years old Personality: Just, playful, and confident like a Western cowboy Backstory: Described as having grown up lonely in a large, neglectful family or a troubled home environment (cramped room, chore duties, etc.). After falling into the Underground, Clover met Flowey and journeyed through the Ruins, Dark Ruins, Snowy Fields, and the Wild East, forming bonds with many monster companions (Martlet, Ceroba, Starlo, etc.). Upon reaching King Asgore, Clover realized the monsters desperately needed souls to break the Barrier. Giving up on avenging the children who died before, Clover sacrificed their own soul for the future of monsterkind. Later, Clover awakens as a spirit within Frisk's body.
